Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at lewisequinellc@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We have several locations with plans to ad more in the near future.

1. Our Ranching Lifestyle/Horsemanship/ Hunting is held at our Burnet, Tx Facility outside of Austin, Flights into Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) or Killeen Regional

2. Additionally, some of our Hunting Guide Ranching Course is held at our Leakey, Tx Facility which is located 90 miles northwest of San Antonio International Airport (SAT).

With prior coordination and communication with staff, we can schedule for transport from the airport to the ranch.  For those looking to drive to the ranch please contact staff for appropriate directions.

The physical requirements are to be able to mount a horse, work in the cold/heat and  assist in ranch duties. Students must be able to lift at least 50 pounds chest high. It is  imperative that you are in the proper shape for these activities. We have a weight limit  restriction of NO MORE than 235lbs. Students over 235lbs will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If you are over 235lbs please contact us for a consultation to determine  your conditioning and safety for you and the horse. If you smoke, please note that there is  no smoking allowed on the property.

For the safety of our staff and other students, all applicants will be required to submit a  criminal background check prior to enrollment. Any criminal history will be evaluated on  a case-by-case basis and either approved or declined by instructors. If you have  questions, please contact us ahead of time.

All classes include bunkhouse style lodging as well as meals.

Most ages are allowed.  The only exception to age limit is if a child is too young or too small to physically participate safely in activities.  Minors are allowed but must have a parent or guardian accompany them.

Cost vary depending on the class you choose.  Please look at our course description here.

Most classes run for 5, 7 or 10 days and are about 8-10 hours per day.  Longer classes are available, please contact us for more information.
